Investment Increased By 31 Percent:


Releasing the figures of 2022, the Association of Mutual Funds in India (AMFI) said that investment through SIP in mutual fund schemes increased by 31 percent as compared to a year ago due to increase in participation of retail investors last year. This happened despite the continuous ups and downs in the market.

In the year 2021, investors had invested Rs 1.14 lakh crore through SIP in mutual fund schemes, while in 2020 this amount was Rs 97,000 crore.

SIP is the method of investment in Mutual Fund, in which an individual investor can invest a fixed amount over a fixed period. A minimum amount of Rs 500 can also be invested through this.


Investment Will Increase This Year


Kaustubh Belapurkar, Research Manager and Director of Morningstar Investment Advisor India, said that people have started understanding the importance of regular investment through SIP and this year also the amount invested through this route may continue to increase. Belapurkar has said that SIP investment will continue to grow with the arrival of new investors.


Investment increased for the third consecutive month


In December 2022, Rs 13,573 crore was invested in mutual fund schemes through SIP, which is its highest level. Apart from this, this was the third consecutive month when the investment size made through SIP remained above Rs 13,000 crore.


How much has the figure increased by the end of December?


At the end of December, the size of the total assets invested through SIP increased to Rs 6.75 lakh crore, which is 19 percent more than Rs 5.65 lakh crore in December 2021.
