After the successful launch of Chandrayaan-3, ISRO chief S Somnath told the media, "If all goes well, Chandrayaan will land on the lunar surface on August 23, at 5.47 pm IST." ISRO said that Chandrayaan-3 has started its journey towards the Moon in its precise orbit.


Chandrayaan-3: ISRO family's 73-day 'penance' pays off:


A senior official of the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) said on Friday that the 73-day penance of the ISRO family was successful with the successful launch of Chandrayaan-3 from the 'Bahubali' rocket LVM3.



Addressing the gathering at the Mission Control Center of Satish Dhawan Space Center after the successful launch, Chandrayaan-3 Mission Director S. Mohana Kumar said that it was 73 days of penance for the ISRO family.


The penance has finally paid off with Chandrayaan-3 weighing 3.8 tonnes being placed in the desired orbit of the Earth.


Bahubali rocket left:


The 'Bahubali' rocket left for space with LVM3 Chandrayaan at around 2.35 pm from the launch pad number-2 of the space center and Chandrayaan separated from it after about 16 minutes. Now gradually Chandrayaan's orbit will be changed and it will be sent to the Moon at an appropriate time.


LVM3 rocket has been given the nickname 'Bahubali'. Kumar said that continuous improvement has been made in it. It will be used for India's Gaganyaan mission in which the country's astronauts are to be sent into space.


Minister of State for the Department of Space Jitendra Singh, who was present at the control center, said, "It is indeed a proud moment for the country." Thank you Team ISRO for making the country proud.
